Thursday, May 22nd, 2008I met with Casey and Alex for their engagement photo session at Washington Park in Denver. It was a beautiful day for pictures. Here are some of my favorites:

I met with Casey and Alex for their engagement photo session at Washington Park in Denver. It was a beautiful day for pictures. Here are some of my favorites:

Here are some photos from Samantha and Larry’s engagement photo session. We took some shots in Denver and then headed off to Red Rocks for some more fun:

I recently met with Carol and Francis for their engagement photo session. I love it when we get the chance to do engagement photos at the actual location where a couple gets engaged. Carol and Francis were engaged in Italy, so… (I wish!!!). Francis was in town for the weekend so we had the session at the Southlands Mall, right outside the studio. Here are some shots from the session:

Shana and Terry were in town for the weekend and we took advantage of the time to do their engagement photos in Denver. They will be getting married in the near future in Vail at the Donovan Pavilion. Here are some of my favorite photos from the session:

I originally shot the above photo as a wide-angle shot featuring the entire bridge with Shauna and Terry in the center of it (for symbolic purposes), and lots of sky and other surroundings in the photo. For this image, I simply cropped it to give a different feel and mood. I love working with different compositions as they provide entirely different moods, meanings, and symbolism.

It would be a shame to walk past a public art piece like this one and not use it in a photo - so we used it.

Thanks Shauna and Terry; I had a blast! See you soon in Vail…
Tricia and Dave’s first met at the church featured in the background of some of the photos featured below. I always enjoy doing photo sessions at locations that are meaningful since it adds a deeper sense of significance to the photos. For this session we started on Pearl Street and then headed on to downtown Denver for more.
Thanks Tricia and Dave! See you soon for the wedding!
Now for some photos:

Taylor proposed to Erin in Castle Rock - literally at the rock. So, what better place to take engagement photos than the place where they were engaged? Congratulations Erin and Taylor. Not long until the wedding!
Here are some of my favorites from the session:

I had a fun time with Kourtney and Justin, taking their engagement photos on Pearl Street and nearby Washington Park in Denver. A couple things stood out to me as I went through their photos: they both have great smiles and the both look incredibly happy all the time.

Kari and Kevin are getting married in Colorado Springs next month. So… we decided on Garden of the Gods (GOG) for their engagement photos.
Thanks Kari and Kevin; it was a fun session.

Teresa and Patrick made it to town just days before their Breckenridge wedding and we decided to do their engagement photos at Denver Botanic Gardens. The forecast called for rain but it held out long enough for us to get some fun shots:

Jade and Randy were in town for just a few days. They hired me to photograph their wedding later this year, and we did their engagement photos they day after our first meeting. We met at Cheeseman Park in Denver. It had been raining just a bit before our session. I like the shot below where the sun was breaking through the cloudy sky:

Their engagement highlight slideshow is included below. Click on it to play.
I recently returned from Las Vegas where I attended the 2007 WPPI conference (that’s short for Wedding & Portrait Photographers International). This is an annual conference attended by thousands of photographers each year. What happens when you put lots of photographers together? Well, you get lots of pictures, of course!
There were the usual Las Vegas sights to be seen, but we also went around getting some engagement-style photos of a model by the name of Cecilia and her future husband, Patrick. Thanks guys, it was a blast! When I say “we” I don’t mean thousands of us - this was just a small group doing our own thing.

We headed up to the lake house in Evergreen for Liana and Brady’s engagement photos. Were had been discussing options on where to do the photos and I suggested this location based on the type of photos Liana and Brady wanted. What a surprise to learn that this was in fact where Brady proposed to Liana. I hope it makes these photos that much more special.
Here’s one of my favorite silhouettes. I love the cloudy sky and the perfect separation outlining Liana and Brady, giving it just the right mood and detail.
